GLASGOW AIRPORT BOMBING JUNE 2007

David Swindle acted as the Police Senior Investigating Officer for the Glasgow Bombing in 2007.  His long experience dealing with high profile cases was invaluable.

It was a suicide attack on the airport and although the terminal was crowded with travellers, by a miracle, only 5 members of the public were injured.  David Swindle was in charge of the incident, the first terrorist attack in Scotland since the Lockerbie Bombing in 1988

A Jeep Cherokee car was driven at the doors of Glasgow airport.  It contained gas cylinders and was set on fire on impact. The two occupants of the car were Bibal Abdullah and Kafeel Ahmed both were seriously injured and Kafeel died on 2 August from his injuries.

David Swindle  was awarded a Chief Constable Commendation for his work on the case.
